Long time no see, a long update and sharing art

 Hi all!

A small update because I haven't been seen and heard for a lot of months. Truth to be told I've been really busy with college and life as I had to take some matters into my hands to sort out problems and pass my college course too. I had so much fun this year - I had been learning about painting and decorating and as well doing practical side of it. :)

Lighthouse

Hi all!

Last couple months I've been playing with ink mainly due to lack of time as I've been sandwiched between college, work, family and other responsibilities.

To freshen up my ink work, I started to add also a very light wash of watercolour,

Flowers in a vase

 Hi all!

This one I drew roughly a month ago. I've been busy with my college and personal life so that's why the blog a bit stagnates due to the lack of time.

Tucson, Arizona, USA

 Hi all,

although I never been there, I found the reference picture very stunning. So I decided to make my version of the village in a painting/drawing. I have to say that architecture is daunting for me so I was kind of postponing to finish the picture.

Himi gouache and Arteza watercolour pencils were used on 300GSM Mixed media paper.

EchoStar

Title: EchoStar is always listening

Autor: Melinda Salisbury

Language: English

Story:

Ruby and Deva are looking forward to go on a Ash Tree Foundation Performing Arts Camp. Unfortunately, their marks are bad so there's threat that they won't go. Deva's marks suddenly improve and she excels in the subjects. Ruby is curious, wanting to find out how it happened so Deva tells her. Curious Ruby goes on the forum and wants the AI too. Asking the person, she is provided with a download of an app. What could go wrong, right?

I've been enjoying this short stories about questioning AI and humanity. It does let the person think what future might hold if AI and humans are going to missuse it. It might be a short young adult novel. However, it has couple points to think about too.

A hedgehog

 Hi all,

this small hedgehog was very fun to make. I followed a free easy pattern in case somebody wants to make it by themselves. Click here. My daughter liked him a lot. Her pal was leaving school so she gave the toy to a friend as a memory.

Hope?

Once upon a time we used to be very close.

Inseparable, always watching each other's back.

Where did that go?

Nasty and quiet fights left wounds and scars marking us both.

Still I wonder if one day we turn around

- able to heal, forgive and become something new and better

- together.

Little joys/Malé radosti - a new project

 Hi all!

I would like to introduce you our new project which we've been working for over a month now.

Me, Iri and Isumi were discussing all July what to do for strangers as a uplifting gesture as we were inspired by other similar groups. However, because we wanted a bit different rules we made our own group.

Our project, Little joys/Malé radostim is about making small hand made items and spreading them randomly over cities. It can be small crochet thingies, beading, knitting plushies, epoxy keychains etc. We don't put limitations on imagination as long as it is handmade.

We can share what we made and going to spread and also share what was found around the world! :) We have Multilanguage group and we are not limited on places - as long as you know either English or Czech/Slovak.

With this introduction, I would like to invite you to our FB group:  Little joys/Malé radosti

A curse carved in bone

Title: A curse carved in bone

Autor: Danielle L. Jensen

Language: English

Story:

This is a continuation of the first book. Freya is trying to defeat her unseen fait which other people planned for her. Other people using and abusing her two god power to their own advantage. However, Freya stops to listen and wants to make her own life with her own hands and close ones. The fjor who she has to defeat is a child of god as well. Secondly, the fjor has a mask which people trust as he was always kind to them. But it starts to slip and crack. Will Freya manage to take out shackles which are tying her?

I really liked the book but I still felt like something was lacking in character development. I cannot pin point what it was. The story by itself is very interesting. From absolute betrayal to find your own path, not having other people's shit manipulating you anymore.

A Fate Inked in Blood

Title: A Fate Inked in Blood

Autor: Danielle L. Jensen

Language: English

Story:

Freya is married to Vragi, a son of fish god, who is enjoying himself to causing trouble for fun - killing fish as a sport which doesn't deserve this kind of treatment or causing trouble in people's life. He's known by leading in cruelty. One day, other leader of a clan decides to visit, her husband has a dirty plan to reveal her secret in a fight against Bjorn, son of fire god and son of the other land leader. Everybody at that moment finds out that she has a drop of goodness blood - shield maiden. However, they don't count with dear consequences of other clan's who want to posses this power as well.

My opinion:

I really enjoyed the first book as it seemed to have refreshing theme in my library. I was waiting every minute to read it as it had revealed story in a good pace. it's set in Norse country and is a bit different as a lot of characters in the book are children of Norse gods. I was rooting for Freya's fate to turn around. I had a lot of emotions going through as there is theme of abuse and power over women in the book. So it might be for someone a heavy read.

London photos part II.

Later after the appointment I visited Japanese joinery which was interesting too. Unfortunately, don't have any pictures of that. Then I went into a design museum which had a lot of old and new technology on a display. It was interesting to see the old and bold designs of technology while we are having very clean design there days without the boldness. I remember how I looked on my first sleek phone in 2012 and thought it was very cool. Now I looked at it and I really liked also the different designs of different companies. They had also a huge 3D printer, thought that they only make small ones and not almost big as a room.

London photos part I.

 Hi all,

a month ago I was in London to sort out some of mine things. I took plenty of photos while I was waiting for the appointment in the morning. It was very nice day, despite the hot temperatures in the afternoon, I really enjoyed the trip. Having say that, I had to go into hiding around 3 as it became too hot and I overheated too.

On the way there I got stuck in traffic, so being mortified I won't manage to catch a bus and miss the London one in Glasgow I texted my half about it. Luckily, I managed to get on time into Glasgow despite traffic jam.

In the bus to London I had a guy who was all the time staring at me, later one he offered me pillow and grapes. I declined like 10x as I don't want anything from strangers. Just wanted to sleep on my window peacefully. :D

In London I went around Hyde park. It's so massive! Think that I would need all day to walk through it.

Perth

Perth and river Tay

Got into London safely! Last time I visited the place was in 2016.

Scotland's summer flowers

 Hi all!

Not long ago I was giving out my small Zine to people in my town. I hope you enjoy it too. :) I really like the bright colours of the Zine. I started this mini project a year ago (yeah :D) and finished just this month.

A unicorn bookmark

So these 14 days I have been working on the unicorn (pattern link). With my class mates we were doing a project about a ship with the same name - HMS Unicorn - last semester. So I think it's sweet reminder for our class teacher to give her something similar with the same name.

On a small straw of grass

Pixabay: TyliJura

On a small straw of grass,
I'm holding my hope
which is slowly disappearing
like a sun going to asleep.
Will I ever get better and happier?

One moment there's happiness,
the other there's sadness.
Emotions on the swing
as watching people leaving
one by one.

Living with the Machine Human-generated fiction in an AI world

Title: Living with the Machine Human-generated fiction in an AI world
Autor: Nethergate writers
Language: English

The book includes 11 short stories about human and AI interactions which are critical for humanity. In the stories people are still on the edge of getting used to the machines where they are very weary of the robot interaction and they aren't trusting these new machines. I would say that all of the short stories are good for considering the possible outcome in our real world even though this is only fiction. In my opinion It's something how some people are approaching AI now as well.

What I liked the most from the stories is the first one about the captain where AI saved not only other robots but also humans as the other party (of humans, who wanted to abuse AI and experiment) in a play didn't have best intention for either species.

Would I recommend the book? Definitely if you like to take into consideration different view of the AI and the world and let yourself think.
